Procedures for admission to Tavernspite School
Tavernspite School has an excellent reputation locally. As a result demand for places are high with the school being very popular. Therefore, we encourage parents to register their children as soon as possible.
If you would like your child(ren) to join Tavernspite School we would advise you to first come and visit the school ideally with your child(ren). Please telephone the school office: 01834 831691 or email: email@example.com to arrange an appointment.
When you visit the school you will be given a full tour around the school by the Deputy or Headteacher and have the opportunity to see the school in action and ask as many questions as you like.
If your child is starting in the Early Years you will be invited to a special information session just before the start date where you will be given all the information required for your child to begin school life. Starting school is a major step for both the children and their parents. We are very mindful of this and take every measure to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible and that parents know absolutely everything they need to.
All applications for Tavernspite School must be made online via the Pembrokeshire County Council website. All admissions are dealt with directly by the Local Education Authority who make the final decision on whether we are able to accommodate your child(ren). Parents residing out of catchment who wish to send their child to Tavernspite School will be allocated a place at the discretion of the Local Authority, depending on availability of space.
Children can start attending school in our Nursery Class for five afternoons a week at the beginning of the term in which they turn four years old.
They can then become full time pupils the term after their fourth birthday. However, entry may be deferred until the child attains statutory school age of 5 years if it is the parent’s wish. Part time children are entitled to school dinner.
