‘Friends of Tavernspite School’ (FOTS)

Involving Parents in the life of the school!

The relationship we have with the parents is a real strength of our school!

We are blessed to be part of a very close school community with extremely helpful and supportive parents.  We care very much about our parents and enjoy the wonderful relationship we have together.

We recognise and are grateful for all the support that we receive from the parents as our school would not be able to enjoy the success it has without them.

Our aim is a continued and successful home/school relationship with parents and staff cooperating fully with each other so that children feel confident that everyone is working together in his or her best interests.

We want parents to feel that they are genuinely welcome to contact the school when there is any matter, however trivial, causing concern about your child’s education, behaviour or attitude. It is obviously preferable if an appointment can be made, unless matters are urgent.

How do you join the ‘Friends of Tavernspite School’?

We have a very active and energetic ‘Friends of the Tavernspite School’ (FoTS) fundraising group which continue to grow from strength to strength and raise considerable amounts of money for our school.

There are many ways that parents can contribute to school life, one of the best ways is through our ‘FoTS – Friends of Tavernspite School.’ The FoTS are very successful in bringing the school community together and we are very grateful for their incredible commitment and enthusiasm.

Like most schools, we welcome any financial contribution from FoTS to supplement the amount of money provided by the Local Authority and Welsh Government and assure you that any money donated from FoTS is put to good use, for the benefit of ALL the children.

All parents are automatically members of FoTS and are very welcome to come along to meetings or help out in any way they wish. The FoTS meet regularly throughout the year to arrange fundraising events.

In the Annual General Meeting, we appoint the new elected officers and committee members for the following years, so please come along if you would like to get involved. It is a great way to become directly involved in school life and help your child’s education at the same time.

Details about what FoTS achieve and purchase for the schools as well as their future plans are available through their regular newsletters, meeting minutes and school Facebook page.
