We consider staff as our most valuable resource and we recognise the enormous impact they have on the quality of education. Every class throughout the school has at least one full time learning support assistant, many have two or even three, as well as the class teacher to support the children’s learning and providing emotional support.
We are blessed with an amazing team of staff at Templeton School who do their utmost to provide the best possible service to the children in their care. The staff have so many incredible talents and qualities that they share with the children daily to enhance their experiences at school. We believe that children only have one chance of a high quality education and parents have the right to expect this.
In the front entrance of the school is a framed photograph with accompanying name and position labels of all members of staff. It’s worth taking a look at these photos to familiarise yourself with them.
We believe that it is very important to look after the staff in our school. A staff action group called, TEaM – ‘Tavernspite/Templeton Emotional and Mental wellbeing’ works hard to ensure the wellbeing of staff across the school.
The school has a very positive ethos amongst its staff and they enjoy positive working relationships with colleagues. Close team working throughout the school is very important and a key factor in our success.
Our staff take their work very seriously, yet try and have as much fun as possible doing it. We recognise that if we are happy than the children will be happier too. Staff are often organising social events after school to be able to have some down time and relax.
These are great for team building and staff morale too. For example, we have a staff choir that perform at various school events, some groups of staff go cycling after school, others go running or walking regularly too.
Tavernspite School runs an ‘Asymmetric School’ week.

There is a ‘Friday Afternoon Enrichment Club’ until 3pm for anyone wanting to use it.
Free breakfast club is available everyday between 8am – 8:30am and after school club is available Monday to Thursday.
